About Us

Anesthesia Associates of New Mexico (AANM) began in 1970 when Ted Spitz, the first trained anesthesiologist in New Mexico, joined with six other anesthesiologists. Now, 51 years later, we have over a hundred employees, AANM is one of the largest anesthesia groups in the Southwest and ever-expanding due to our balanced, stable practices. Our award-winning anesthesia staff is highly competent and just as friendly. We have anesthesiologists that are fellowship-trained in cardiac anesthesia, pediatric anesthesia, OB anesthesia, and chronic pain management. We employ a proven team model with skilled anesthesiologists and nurse anesthetists working side-by-side to provide safe, personalized patient care while simultaneously maximizing efficiency. With the support of our top-notch office staff, AANM is built to last and would be proud to manage your future anesthesia needs.
